Wallacetown Centenary Trophy

Ampcontrol is an Australian company which now owns what used to be Wallacetown Engineering Company Limited, where our golf club has its roots.

This year, 2018, is 100 years since the Wallacetown Engineering Company was founded. back in 1918. It was also the 50th year since the founding of Ampcontrol. This also co-incided with the factory move from Irvine to Prestwick.

To celebrate these events Ampcontrol had an “official opening” of the factory and as part of that celebration Ampcontrol donated a cup to Wallacetown Golf Club. Captain Bert Truesdale received the trophy on behalf of the club from Peter Cockbain one of the founding partners of Ampcontrol.

The Wallacetown Centenary Trophy is a prestige award of which WGC is proud to own and is grateful to Ampcontrol for its generous donation and recognition of the history of which it is now part.
